Isabella is a 1 year old female mixed breed (we don't know what she is mixed with but she only weighs 25 lbs) who arrived iin the program 12-12-18. If you think you would be interested in adopting her when she completes her training, please contact her Rescue, Friends Fur Life Rescue, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Week 1. Isabella quite the adorable little girl. She is just beginning to learn basic manners. She loves to play with the dogs, but has to be reminded that there is a right and wrong way to play. Fortunately, Dorey is a very good momma dog and checks her when she starts playing too rough. She just needs to learn doggie etiquette :-) She is beginning to learn the basics, but because she is still young and didn't have any previous training, her first order of business is to learn to focus. She's so adorable, though, and loves everyone, both people and dogs. She is a very active young girl and loves to play, play, PLAY :-) :-) She has already master sit and down. Her only fear is the wind. She becomes frightened when the wind is blowing hard. But that is to be expected, as she was a Hurricane Florence survivor. Isabella would do well in any home environment, even with kids.
Week 2. Sweet Isabella is such a wonderful young girl. She is great with all people and dogs. She is such an excited little girl and extremely smart. She is doing great with her cues/commands and knows sit, down and wait. She is a bundle of energy who would do great in a home with kids. She still becomes frightened when there is a strong wind, but her handler is doing his best to desensitize her, which is a little difficult, since it isn't always windy. But given her great temperment, we're sure she will overcome this one and only obstacle. She would be a great fit for any family.
Week 3. Our little Princess Isabella is making great progress. She is learning to really focus on her handler and what he is asking of her. Her favorite activity is playing (of course) but she's really showing improvement in dialing down her puppy excitement and listening. And she seemed to do better this week with the wind. It still makes her a little nervous, but her handler said she was much less concerned this week. She is such an adorable little girl!
Week 4. Isabella is such a cutie! She is making remarkable progress in learning to focus and listen to her handler. But she is always ready to play! Nonstop!! Once the play starts, she still has problems following the rules. But that's what kids do! She is an adorable girl who loves all people and dogs. She is learning how to respect the other dogs when her playing gets too much for them. When they check her, she listens. Her fear of the wind seems to be completely gone. Isabella will do great in any home environment!
Week 5. Isabella continues to be the cutest and fun-loving young girl!! She's showing progress with regards to her basic manners training. Sometimes she just cant contain her excitement, but as a young dog, that's expected. But she is showing progress with her cues/commands.
Week 6. This week Isa (as her handler calls her) is really doing extremely well. She is always happy and playful. And she is making very good progress with regards to her basic behavior and obedience. She's almost ready to head to a furever loving home. She still has a few weeks to go, but she's passed the threshhold!! We can't wait!!
Week 7 + 8. Isa is doing very well. And as always, very happy and playful. She makes progress every day on her good behavior. She is very close to finding her furever home. Her handler believes she will be ready to go within the next 3 weeks :-) :-) She loves all people and dogs. She would do well in any time of home who understands she is a young dog and needs lots of play and exercise!!
Week 9. Isa continues to do extremely well in the program. Her handler believes SHE IS READY for her furever home!! She is ready to make a family very happy with her charming personality! She is great with all people and dogs. She has no issues with any type of resource guarding. Her sit, down, wait, stay, leash-walking, off-leash walking and recall are very good. She loves to play fetch and give her paw to anyone who will accept it :-) :-) And Isa would really love to have a big, fenced yard or somewhere she can play and interact. SHE IS READY!!!
Week 10. As usual, Isa is doing extremely well. This week she played just about all day with the other dogs in the snow (see the pictures on the Happy Hounds Prison Dog Program FB Pae). She always has lots of run running and playing with all the other dogs. She continues to be exceptional with all people and all the other dogs. She is doing a remarkable job with helping Nala to regain her confidence. Isabella is trying to engage with Nala and it seems to be working. Little by little Nalas is starting to respond. Dogs are always the best at helping other dogs. SHE IS READY FOR HER FUREVER HOME!!
Week 11/12/13. Isabella is PERFECTION! She has become the most wonderful dog since entering the program. She has great manners, she does whatever is asked of her, she gets along with all people and all dogs. She is also become a great teacher to our super shy, scared girl Nala. She is ready for the next step in her young life. Isabella has so much to offer a family. ISABELLA IS READY!!!
